What’s a job you would like to do for just one day?

If I had a job for one day, I would like to be a commercial SCUBA salvage diver. SCUBA diving is so peaceful and to bring something off of the bottom of the lake or ocean that’s been down there for hundreds of years would be a dream come true. I don’t want to watch it on a screen from an ROV – I want to be down there touching it and bringing it to the surface. Even bringing someone’s sailboat back from the depths would be rewarding.

I honestly think that is why I put SCUBA diving in my novels – I’m living vicariously through my characters.

Have you ever been camping?

I’m going to be honest – I’m a glamper. When I was dating my husband, many years ago, we would travel all over the Midwest so that he could jump waterfalls in a kayak. We would camp in a tent, where the only running water I had was a river or lake. It was fun, but I distinctly remember washing my hair in a river that had ice chunks floating down it, which was not fun.

Then, when we had our first child, he wanted to continue the tradition. I refused, so he purchased a travel trailer. Then, we had two more children and upgraded our “trailer” twice until we bought our current thirty-foot-fifth wheel. See, we loved being out in the middle of nowhere instead of at a campground, but I wanted all of the amenities of home. Now, the only thing we don’t have when we “glamp” is a dishwasher, washer or dryer (yet).
