What’s the first book you ever finished and still remember to this day?
The first book I remember reading on my own was “Black Beauty” by Anna Sewell. This book was published in 1877 and was narrated from the POV of the horse. I was in 6th grade when I read it, and I still remember parts of it today. Now, I was traumatized by this book: the horse is abused and the book ends when he dies. To this day I refuse to read, write, or watch anything where the main character dies or there is any form of animal abuse.
